Which supplement product is the original one of Acai berries?
I heard of Acai Pure in the oprah show with special guest Dr. Oz. Supposedly, this natural product, made of natural acai berries that are found in rain forests in the Amazon, contains anti oxidants which can help you lose weight. Some people think otherwise and is saying some products could be scams!
"Some people think otherwise and is saying some products could be scams!"
COULD be? They ARE scams. All that "Amazon", "berries", "anti-oxidants", lingo is just stuff they put in their message to convince ordinary people that it is some miracle drug. It's not, it's a gimmick. You can lose fat without supplements. The only thing Acai berries will do is give you the feeling you are losing fat faster than you really are.
To lose fat:
1. DON’T BELIEVE THOSE FAD DIETS! DIET PILLS ARE GIMMICKS!
2. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF! Unless you are 4ft tall, a 1,200 calorie a day diet is DANGEROUS and won't work in the long run.
3. Calculate your BMR. Do a google search. A good calculator would ask for your age, height, weight, and activity level.
4. Eat healthy and eat about 500 calories a day less than your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). Your BMR is how many calories you need per day to maintain your current weight.
5. Eat 5-6 small meals a day. This keeps your metabolism up. Each meal should include fruits, veggies, water, and protein.
5. Drink at least 64oz (8 8oz glasses) of water a day. No soda (that includes diet soda).
6. Do light/moderate cardio 3 to 5 times a week for 30 to 45 minutes each time. Running, bicycling, and swimming are great for this.
7. Do some strength training to make sure you lose fat and not muscle. Don't worry; you won't look like the hulk if you lift weights.
8. You should lose about 1-2lbs (.45-.9kg) per week. If you lose more than that, chances are the rest is stool, water weight, or even muscle mass.
9. Weigh yourself only once a week at the same time (ie every Friday morning). Your weight fluctuates a lot during any 24hour period because of water and food intake and also bowel movements.
Be patient and be smart. If you follow this guideline you will be very happy with your results.
Does taking Multi-vitamins everyday really help with your Health?
Or are those pills just a waist of time to take?
What is the best Vitamin to take everyday?
They are a good supplement to a healthy diet. It is very hard to get all the nutrients you need from a normal healthy diet.
One a day is all you need and they are only intended to be a supplement and not a replacement for a healthy diet.
Why did I feel sick after taking my Multi Vitamin?
This morning I got my AST Multi Pro 32X Multi Vitamin and Multi Mineral supplement in the post, which I purchased form eBay. I took my first serving this morning with a glass of water, PRIOR to breakfast. Around 20-30 minutes later, as I was cooking my breakfast I had a sudden urge to feel sick, so went into the bathroom. I stayed there for about 3 minutes and left because I no longer had the urge. Around 5 minutes later, I again felt an urge to feel sick, and this time it was much worse, so I rushed into the bathroom, and I vomited 5 or 6 times in a row. Afterwards I felt alright. The vomit had nothing in it, it was just liquid (A orangey-yellowey colour, almost like urine).
If its any relevance Im 16 years old, and am taking the multi to aid in my mass building, and I lift weights 5 times per week.
Thanks for any good answers.
G'Day mate,
You have done somethings right here, the only mistake is that you should take your vitamin straight after eating so as to not get the sick feeling. This is so due to your system is in digestive mode so that the vitamin will so at the same time.
My dog will not take her vitamins! What is good tasting liquid vitamin your dog takes without a "fuss"
I was able to get a vitamin pill in her by wrapping cheese around it, but she got wise to it.
Anyone know of a liquid vitamin for dogs.
or
Can she take like Flintstones or liquid vitamins for children?
She has stopped eating her dry Nutro, I have tried Merricks, Duck and Potato something….uh…Solid Gold buffalo and salmon…you name it…..she will just not eat any dry dog food anymore.
I have now resorted to cooking chicken and rice with peas and baking sweet potatoes…she is driving us crazy..the people that had her before said she would not eat dry and I believe it…
I was wanting her to get some vitamins in her somehow..
Thank you all for these answers..they are enlightening..for sure!!
The people that had her before you made the same mistake as you are…they bow down to a dog that when given food will refuse because she is spoiled to death.
Put down the food and give her 15 minutes then pick it up and try it again the next day, 15 minutes ONLY.
Keep doing every day, the same dry dog food, she will eat, I promise..You would eat it too if you were starving and had nothing else to eat.
If you give her a decent food, she does not need extra vitamins!!
Metallic Taste, Clenching/Chewing Sensation?
have a metallic taste in my mouth accompanied by a stiff jaw (light stiffness in neck & body, like i’m being restrained). Along with a chewing sensation (or need to clench or grind jaws) with a sharp frontal headache.
I remember having this in my youth. I had a Raggedy Andy doll I would chew on when I would get the “symptoms”. No pain other than headache. No jaw locking… just a feeling of wanting to clench teeth.
Before I admit myself into a psychiatric institute, any suggestions? Possibly unrelated, tightness in chest a couple of days ago while folding laundry. 32, a mom, gall bladder removed, heart ablation 4 years back, light smoker (less than a 1/4 pack per day), otherwise good health.
WebMD says that either I’m on medication and having a reaction OR I was poisoned. Neither which is true. Not on antibiotics or any medication, no history of stroke in family, definitely NOT pregnant…and I DEFINITELY do not take drugs
do you have almalgm fillings. Metal/silver ones. You probably are clenching your teeth, I do it, can’t always help it, it’s probably int /ext stress, that’s why you have headaches, poor sleep and or muscle/neck tension. some meds can cause it, or Wellbutrin anti depressant..
What are the best vitamins, herbs, etc. for gum (as in mouth) health?
In addition to flossing and brushing twice daily, I would like to know what foods or supplements I can take to improve or stabilize the state of my gums (and thus, my teeth). I’ve seen reports that say that Vitamin C and Vitamin A are very good but I’d like to verify. Thanks!
Vitamin C is essential to gum health (Scurvy is a result of a lack of C)
You also need calcium and a fluoride rinse is a great idea. Gum disease is caused by plaque bacteria, vitamins and herbs do not eradicate bacteria in your mouth. Healthy people have a greater ability to fight off the bacteria, but the best thing you can do for oral health is to thoroughly brush and meticulously floss every day and limit sugary foods that tend to make plaque bacteria grow faster. Of course any vitamin or herb that promotes a healthy immune system will assist your white blood cells in fighting off the bacteria
What are your thoughts on Noni juice?
I was on the Noni juice regiment for a year, I even stopped drinking coffee while on it. I am considering going back to drinking Noni juice again…what are the thoughts about this miracle tonic? All medical, homeopathic, or just plain experience, welcomed. Also, I am planning on conceiving by end of year, any conflict with the Noni juice and pregnancy? Thank you all in advance for your responses!
It's not the best tasting juice (which is why it's commonly with other juices)…. but it's a VERY good antioxidant and is a good general health tonic than can help to boost your immune system.
As far as the pregnancy issue, there are no warnings about Noni and pregnancy (which is normal for most fruits), so it should be no problem.
Has anyone tried mangosteen juice and actually benefitted from it health-wise?
Mangosteen juice supposedly contains xanthones which is supposed to help with joint functioning, immune system, and seasonal respiratory symtoms, etc. Just wanted to know if anyone has noticed health benefits from drinking it.
man·go·steen – n. 1. an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia that has leathery leaves and large edible fruit. Latin name: Garcinia mangostana 2. the fruit with a hard, reddish-brown rind and sweet, juicy pulp produced by the mangosteen tree. Also known as “Queen of Fruits.”
xan·thone – n. C13H8O2 a unique class of biologically active compounds possessing numerous bioactive capabilities, such as antioxidant properties. Xanthones—found in the whole mangosteen fruit—may help maintain intestinal health, strengthen the immune system, neutralize free radicals, help support cartilage and joint function, and promote a healthy seasonal respiratory system.*
XanGo® Juice boasts a proprietary whole–fruit formula, harnessing a concentrated rush of xanthones—a vigorous family of next–generation phytonutrients. Sounds complex. But here’s the straight scoop. To support the discovery and development of a singular dietary supplement with sensational taste, the founders of XanGo referenced decades of mangosteen studies. From ancient beliefs to modern research, the whole mangosteen fruit is regarded for its antioxidant powers and health-enriching attributes.

how to give liquid vitamins to six month old?
Any sugg on giving my son his vitamins without getting the stinky stuff all over the place.
-I have to hold his hands down or he will grab the tube and get it all over the place….then when i do get it in his mouth he gets a look on his face like it is really nasty and just kinda lets most of it drool out.
-he doesnt take bottles so i cant mix it in with milk
he doesnt take a bottle because he is breastfed and i have offered him breastmilk in a bottle but he is not interested
he will drink out of a cup
I put the dropper to the back of his mouth touching his cheek and would squeeze it in slowly so he had a chance to eat it.
Other times, I mixed it with his fruit and cereal. You are at the stage where you should have started feeding him, so this should be easier now.
What supplements should I take every day to stay healthy and maybe help lose weight?
I currently take a multi-vitamin (chewable because I have a hard time swallowing pills) and liquid fish oil. I also take acidophilus to help prevent yeast infections. And I also take calcium with vitamin d when I can remember to. What else should I be taking?
There is a book called the Perricone Prescription that gives detailed lists and reasons for taking certain supplements for staying young and controlling weight.
I'll just give you a short sample:
1.L-Carnitine or even better Acetyl L-Carnitine 2000mg daily for both weightloss, it promotes the bodies fat burning, and for better thinking,it feeds the brain.
2. Chromium Picolinate 2000 mg daily it also promotes weightloss and stabilizes blood sugar
3.Cinnamon 1000 mg again stabilizes blood sugar.
4. Flaxseed oil or 2000 to 3000 mg daily better source of Omega 3s than fish oil with no risk of mercury contamination. Also good for the eyes to prevent dry eye syndrome as we get older, and is needed with the Carnitine to work synergystically in breaking down fat.
5. CLA 2000 to 3000 mgs daily maintains muscle while we lose weight.
I have lost 30 lbs, and kept it off and am continuing to lose by taking daily the CLA,Cinnamon, the Flaxseed Oil capsules, you can get the oil instead of the capsules, and the Carnitine either the Acetyl when I can afford it or the L-Canitine. The difference is one is broke down further for the body to more readily utilize than the other, and following a primarily low carb lifestyle. I eat right for two weeks then have a weekend free to eat anything I want while still taking the supplements.
Since they control blood sugar, and cravings for sugar I have enjoyed this weightloss journey,I can eat what I want every two weeks, and yet I don't really binge because my bloodsugar stays stable and I don't feel deprived at all, because the cravings are under control.
Since you have a hard time swallowing pills, you can add Cinnamon to your food, and the flaxseed oil, but I don't know how you can get around the rest. Make sure any supplement you take is either in capsule form or is water soluable and breaks down in a glass of water in 30 minutes. Otherwise it does not get used by the body but just passes through.
