What are minerals and vitamins?

Every cell in a living body needs adequate energy and food supply; if a cell needs to work and function properly it has to be maintained without hazardous energy supply. The energy is supplied in the form of proteins, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals. It is considered important to know about the minerals and vitamins upon what they are constituted and what part they play in our overall health. A significant drop in their volume can lead to dreadful disease and pathological symptoms.

Vitamins are organic compounds that function as metabolic regulators of the body. Vitamins are derived from vital+ amines (amino acids), the body requires a small amount of vitamins for the various metabolic functions of the body, but any deficiency can lead to metabolic and physical disorders. Most vitamins are not produced in the body, but a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, grains and cereals can provide the essential vitamins needed by the body, in small doses, and in a balanced way. More over vitamins are classified into fat soluble and water soluble vitamins. These play a vital role in preventing certain diseases like night blindness, scurvy etc.

The macro minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, sodium (salt) potassium and phosphorus are needed in fairly substantial amounts for proper health. Where as, the trace minerals are needed in far smaller quantities and include substances such as zinc, iron, copper, manganese, chromium, selenium, and iodine.

The fitness you are searching for ends with this mineral nutrition that plays a significant role in building fitness and preventing diseases. A nutritional guide you get from a doctor is nothing but a list of these essential minerals and their availability in vegetables and food stuffs and the proportion to acquire.

Why you need them?

What are the best vitamin supplements to take if you get leg cramps?
I already eat bananas every day and that used to help but lately if I happen to stretch my leg out while I'm sleeping I get a severe leg cramp in my lower leg (despite the bananas). I don't want to take a bunch vitamins that won't do anything — so what is THE best vitamin supplement to take to prevent this problem?

    1. Stretch your legs a few times a day, especially before bedtime.

    2. Rotate your ankles and wiggle your toes to increase circulation.

    3. Resist pointing your toes as you crawl into bed.

    4. Avoid crossing your legs or standing for long periods of time.

potassium, and any of the b vitamins, like a B complex. mainly when you are experiencing muscle cramping you usually have low potassium levels so try taking potassium supplements or eating more bananas, especially before and after working out :)

Five hundred to a thousand milligrams of calcium a day should do it as long as you eat nutritious foods; and yes you can buy the calcium with magnesium in it but I would not recommend the regime for a long period of time without consulting a Doctor. There has to be a reason for the leg cramps! Have you been to a Doctor? Also potassium supplements can be dangerous without a Doctors approval. Good Luck!

Calcium and Magnesium are the minerals you need to supplement with…make sure you get a vitamin that is pharmaceutical grade. Most of the stuff you can buy at the grocery store of at Walmart are just food grade, and no wheres near enough of the mineral in the supplement. The best place to find pharmacuetical grade vitamins is http://www.shopherbalife.com/tfward
the best way to tell if you are getting pharmaceutical grade is the price…if it is really cheap…well you get the picture!
